7 Most Frequently Asked Questions from Tattoo Removal Patients05.05.18

The initial tattoo removal consultation is an important moment for every patient and every practice.

It’s an opportunity to showcase your knowledge of the procedure, establish rapport with your patient, and gain theirtrust so that they decide to proceed with treatments.

You’ll want toanswer their questions thoroughly and express yourexpertise in laser tattoo removal.

We’ve gathered the most common patient questions about laser tattoo removal for your reference. Anyone that interacts with a patient from the receptionist to the practitioner should feel confident discussing these topics.

For most patients, pricing is a factor in their decision. It’s important to haveconfident yet competitive pricing for your services. We recommend having a clear pricing structure that allows you, the provider, to give a fast and simple answer to the patient’s questions about prices. It’s best to have the consultation focused on the value of the procedure, not what you charge.

In general, it costs about ten times as much to get a tattoo removed as it costs to have it applied, so there may be some sticker shock for some patients. For this reason, we suggest that youadvertise your minimum price clearly on your website. You should feel confident in your pricing you are providing a valuable service that requires highly specialized equipment.

For many practices, the minimum treatment session price for an extra-small tattoo is somewherein the $75 – $125 range. Any price in this range is considered a normal minimum price for a single treatment. By having the minimum price stated, it allows patients to have a rough idea of expected cost before they come into your clinic for their consultation.

Before starting any treatments, it’s important to set clear expectations and informpatients that tattoos do take multiple sessions to remove. Doing so eliminates any illusions or confusion they may have aboutper session pricing beingthe same as the total cost for complete removal. One way to communicate this effectively and to give patients an opportunity to save money is to sell treatment packages. Selling packages allows your practice to recieve revenue upfront and also locks the patient into repeat visits to your practice

If you’re still looking to determine the right pricing structure for your practice, check out our blog post: Pricing for Laser Tattoo Removal Treatments

The duration of the tattoo removal process is a concern for virtually allpatients.

Some patients may wish to remove a visible tattoo before an event such as their wedding or enlisting in the military. It’s important to establish upfront that tattoo removal is a process that relies on the body’s ability to eliminate ink from the skin.

It’s not unusual forthe body to take over a year to completely eliminate ink. Setting expectations clearly upfront allows for patients to be satisfied throughout the experience rather than feeling as if they were misled.

To allow the skin enough time to heal between treatments and the body’s immune system to flush away ink, we recommend a minimum of six weeks between laser sessions and eight weeks for darker complexions. Stacking the treatments too close together can cause damage and permanent side effects to the skin and doesn’t allow the body enough time to remove the ink that was shattered at the most recent session. For ideal results, we recommend waitingthree months between treatments.

Ultimately, as a tattoo removal practitioner, you cannot know precisely how many treatments a tattoo will need to be fully removed. However, you should assess the patient’s tattoo for how easily it should remove.

We generally suggest speaking in terms of treatment ranges with patients.Tattoo removal treatments fit along a bell curve most patients will need between 5 and 8treatments, some will see complete removal in 3 or 4, and othersmay need 10 or more treatments if there is significant scarring or layered tattoos. We suggest telling patients where they are likely to fit along the bell curve based on the unique factors of their tattoo.

The Kirby-Desai scale is a popular and well-regarded tool for analyzing the number of treatments a tattoo will need for removal. The scale accounts for the following factors that affect the rate of removal:

The Kirby-Desai scale was published in 2009, and technology has improved since then to remove tattoos, but it continuesto be an excellent tool for assessing where a patient stands on the bell curve. There are also other factors, such as patient health, that affect the speed of removal. If a patient is young, physically fit, and has a strong immune system, they will tend to see results faster than an older, obese patient with health problems. Encouraging patients to exercise, drink ample water, and massage the treated area (once healed) are good aftercare tips to share with patients looking to get the best results.

Technology plays an important factor in the rate of removal. The Astanza Trinity is the most powerful multi wavelengthlaser system on the market no other system can match its high peak power across three wavelengths. Interested in learning about laser wavelengths for achieving results? Check out our blog post: Why Wavelengths Matter for Removing Tattoos

Laser tattoo removal typically does involve some level of pain. That said, manysay that it hurts less than they expected.

It’s a common beliefthat tattoo removal is excruciating, yet most patients say that the sensation of removal is comparable to havinga tattoo applied.Common descriptions include the sensation ofa rubber band snapping against the skin or bacon grease basicallyit’s uncomfortable but bearable.

When discussing pain with patients, it’s important to share with them that there is some level of discomfort, but that they can manage it.It may take some tough love to encourage patients concerned about sensitivity.

The vast majority oftattoo removal providers offer some form of soothing to the skin during the treatment.Offering skin numbing during the procedure allows your practice to stay competitive, provide better patient care, and have higher patient satisfaction.

The most popular numbing methodis a Zimmer Cryo 6, which is a powerfulchilling machine that blows cold air on the skin before, during, and after treatments. It’s highly effective and an asset to busy practices that need a solution that is fast and easy-to-use.

Other options for numbing include good old-fashioned ice packs, lidocaine injections, or topical numbing creams. Each numbingmethod has its pros and cons. We have a blog post dedicated to the topic of pain management for this procedure: Skin Numbing for Tattoo Removal Treatments

Many patients are concerned about scarring from laser tattoo removal they understandably want their skin to look as natural as possible after they’ve completed the tattoo removal process.

What many people don’t know is that any scarring that remains after a tattoo removal procedure is often left over from when the tattoo wasoriginally applied by the tattoo artist.

When the proper laser protocols and patient aftercare are utilized, it’s very uncommon for a patient to scar from a Q-switched laser treatment. However, it is very common for a tattoo to feature pre-existing scarring from when it was applied.

When a Q-switched laser treats the skin, it targets and breaks down the tattoo pigment in the skin. If pre-existing scarring is present, it will break down this pigment within the scar tissue. Once the tattoo removal process is complete, the ink will have been eliminated from the location but any of the scarring from the original tattoo will likelystill remain.

During the initial consultation while you are assessing the tattoo, touch it and see if pre-existing scarring is present. If so, mark it as such in the patient’s records and inform the patient that the laser will not eliminate scar tissue, just their ink.

A Q-switched laser is not the best device to use for scar revision and will notprovide significant improvement to remaining scarring. Someskin specialists use fractional lasers (such as fractional CO2 or erbium) to resurface scarred skin after the tattoo removal process.

While it is uncommon to cause scarring from the laser tattoo removal sessions themselves, it is still possible. For example, if you use excessivefluence when treating a tattoo and cause unwanted side effects (such as immediate pinpoint bleeding), scarring may occur.

Another risk for scarring, even if the treatment is performed properly, happens when patients fail to follow aftercare instructions. Blisters and scabs are common side effects that areimportant in the tattoo removal healing process. However, picking scabs or not caring properly for blisters can allow scarring to happen. When discussing aftercare with your patients, make sure to emphasize their role in the outcome of their tattoo removal.

There are also some patients that may have a history of keloids and may be predisposed to scarring, which is why it’s important to take a detailed medical history of each patient.

Reassure your patientsthat you use proper protocols and a professional-grade system that is safe for their skin. Ultimately, as a practitioner, you’ll still want the patient to sign a consent form addressing the risks of the procedure and promote a strong emphasis on aftercarein your practice.

Every tattoo removal practitioner will encounter patients that don’t want their tattoos removed completely, but ratherrevised.Yes, you can provide support to patients looking for tattoo revision.

Anyone that is a candidate for tattoo removal liked tattoos enough to get inkedat one point in their lives. As a practitioner, you’ll want to be sensitive to this and not assume which tattoo a patient wants removed or whether they want complete removal at all.

We always suggest starting out the patient consultation with the question, “Which tattoo are you looking to treat today?” This question allows the patient to tell their story about their tattooand discuss their intentions for coming to you.

Patients that want their tattoo artwork revised fit into two categories:

Selective removal patients are looking to erase a part out of a larger tattoo piece. This is a common request for patients with name tattoos. For example, they like the overall design of their tattoo but dislike that it features an ex-boyfriend’s name. Patients also request selective removal if theirtattoo artist botched the artwork in an area or the tattoo extended further than they wished they just want certain parts of the tattoo “cleaned up.” When performing treatments for selective removal, you likely will need precision to only treat the areas of the tattoo that are desired to be removed usually firing the laser at lower repetition rates will help when treating these specificareas.

Generally, selective removal patients want complete removal of the specific areas they want erased, but sometimes they want it faded in preparation fora cover-up tattoo.

Cover-up patients only want their tattoo faded down to make it easier for their tattoo artist to design a tattoo to be drawn in its place. Tattoo fading needs fewer sessions than complete removal. Often 2 to 3 laser sessions areadequate to fade the tattoo significantly and allow the tattoo artist to have a better canvas to work on.

Having established relationships with local tattoo shops will be a great asset to your practice. Not only will you likely get patients referred to you by the tattoo shops, you’ll also feel confident referring patients to artists that provide quality work for cover-ups, touch-ups, and revisions.

Side effects are to be an expected part of the tattoo removal process for most patients. In fact, some side effects are an important part of the immune response that helps eliminate ink from the skin.

We encourage practitioners to not gloss over side effects during the initial consultation explain the variousside effects in full detail. This way, when yourpatients commit to the tattoo removal process, they’re informed and aren’t shocked the next day when their skin is sensitive and they are potentially limited from their normal activities or clothing.

The most common side effects are:

If all of the proper protocols are used based on the tattoo and the patient’s skin tone, all of these side effects are temporary.Redness, tenderness, and swelling typically subside within a day or two followingtreatment. Blisters usually appear within 24 hours of treatment; sometimes the blisters are very large and may look alarming this is completely normal. Scabs, bruising, and blistering may take up to a week or longer to heal.

Hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation occur when the body’s production of melanin is skewed after a laser treatment. With hyperpigmentation, the body overproduces melanin in reaction to the laser treatment, so skin in the treated area is darker than the natural skin tone. With hypopigmentation, the melanin is depleted by the laser treatment and the skin appears bleached. Both hypopigmentation and hyperpigmentation are typically temporary and resolve naturally with time.Patients with middle to darker skin tones are at the greatest risk for pigmentation changes and should avoid sun exposure the weeks following each treatment.

For patients with pigmentation issues, do not treat at the regular treatment intervals wait until the areahas returned to its normal skin tone before treating again. The main risk for permanent pigmentation changes is ifthe practitioner continues to treat an affected area too aggressively.Even from the start, it is important to treat darker skin tones conservatively using wavelengths that have less absorption by melanin and reduced fluence levels.

Patients are generally more concerned of permanent side effects than temporary ones; the side effects that could be permanent are scarring or pigmentation changes. All permanent side effectsare completely avoidable if the proper protocols and aftercare are used.

We encouragepractices to discuss aftercare during the consultation, have aftercare posted clearly on the website, and give patients a take-home sheet of aftercare instructions. Much of the aftercare for a tattoo removal treatment are similar to that of aftercare after having a tattoo applied, so patients should be familiar with it.

7. How does laser tattoo removal work?

Honestly, this is one of the least common asked questions on this list. Most patients are concerned about the results not how the laser achieves them. That said, discussing the science behind laser tattoo removal should still be an important part of the patient consultation.

Many patients have the misconception that the laser “burns” the tattoo ink out of the skin. By discussing how tattoo removal works, youcan help patients appreciate the role that the laser (and their body) has in eliminating their unwanted tattoo.

We suggesthaving a simplified answersuch as this:

“Each pulse of the laser sends light energy into your skin. We use different wavelengths of laser light to treat different colors of ink in your tattoo. As the light energy is directed into yourskin, it is selectively absorbed by the tattoo ink particles trapped in the dermis of your skin. When the ink particles absorb this energy, they instantly shatter into tiny fragments.Once the laser has broken the ink into smaller pieces, your body’s immune system works to remove the ink over the following weeks, flushing it away from the tattooed area. We see the result of this as the tattoo lightening in appearance. Each additional laser treatment breaks down more and more ink until the tattoo can no longer be seen.”

This description achieves a few things:

We’ve seen that if a patient is informed, they’re more likely to continue with treatment until completion, handle side effects properly, and be satisfied with their tattoo removal experience.

When patients understand the basics of laser-skin interaction, they know that you are a knowledgeablepractitioner with a powerful tool but not a magician. Expectations are realistic so patients areencouraged by the fading along the way and pleased with the end result.

Laser Tattoo Removal – Best Medical Spa New Jersey04.22.18

Tattoos dont have to last forever

We all make mistakes, some more permanent than others. While getting that tattoo might have seemed like a good idea at the time, maybe today it just doesnt fit with your lifestyle. Wouldnt it be great if you could turn your tattoo into a distant memory?

What if you could restore your skin to its natural state with the most advanced lasers available for tattoo removal?

In the past, tattoos were permanent, and removing them could only be attempted through painful, often scar-inducing surgical procedures. But its a new day in tattoo removal. Youll love watching your tattoo fade away, and your skin restored to its natural state with laser tattoo removal.

Safe and effective tattoo removal comes down to a skilled physician choosing the right laser wavelengths for your skin type and the color of your tattoo5. At Reflections, our expert physicians use every laser wavelength on the market today and are adept at choosing the ideal combination of lasers to provide the best possible results.

Unlike some other facilities limited by a single device, we have invested heavily in laser tattoo removal technology and will expertly tailor a treatment approach that uses the ideal wavelength for your tattoo color(s), your skin type and your treatment goals. We use only the most advanced, FDA-approved lasers available today for tattoo removal.

Experience the Reflections difference a team dedicated to perfecting the craft of using lasers to obtain the best results for our patients. Its why plastic surgery and dermatology offices send their patients to us, and why tattoo parlors refer their clients our way when they are looking to wipe the slate clean and rethink their ink.

The most common lasers developed specifically for use in tattoo removal use a technique known as Q-Switching. Q-Switched lasers produce short pulses (billionth of a second) of intense light that pass through the top layers of the skin and are selectively absorbed by the tattoo pigment. This laser energy causes the tattoo pigment to fragment into smaller particles that are then absorbed by the bodys immune system2.

The laser we use depends on the colors in your tattoo and your skin type, as different laser wavelengths are better absorbed by different colors of ink and are safer for certain skin types. For green tattoos that prove resistant to Q-Switched lasers, theres a new class of tattoo removal lasers called picosecond devices (such as the Cynosure PicoSure) that can be used these types of stubborn ink.

Treatment typically includes four or more sessions, spaced apart by six to eight weeks. Your number of treatments will depend on the type and color of ink used in your tattoo, how much of it was used to create your tattoo, and how deeply it was injected into your skin.

Check out this infographic about tattoo removal motives and methods

Weve performed thousands of tattoo removals, and know which lasers will work best with your tattoo and skin type.

PiQo4 is the most advanced pico-second laser for tattoo removal. Offering 4 wavelengths and a wide variety of intensity and size settings for those wavelengths, the PiQo4 laser offers treatment for a wide variety of ink types and colors with safe care of darker skin tones that were previously harder to treat with pico-second technologies. PiQo4 is the most powerful pico-second laser on the market, with almost four times the power of its competitors, picoway and picosure.

RevLite Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser is a powerful multiple wavelength system used to treat stubborn multi-color tattoos. RevLite delivers energy through the epidermis faster than the skin can react, allowing it to administer a precisely controlled amount of energy into the tattoo ink while minimizing injury to the treatment area. This system is used for patients with both light and dark skin.

Medlite C6 is an industry standard laser for multi-colored tattoo removal, with four unique wavelengths. Medlite C6 offers our patients a great, consistent results with no downtime required. It can be used for all skin types and is the safer choice for people with darker complexions.

Alex TriVantage has pumped-laser technology renowned for its superior ability to treat tattoos that include greens, blues and black. Alex TriVantage is a proven way to treat multicolor tattoos across a broad range of patient skin types.

Sinon Ruby Q-Switched laser is ideal for removing black, blue and green pigments. Ruby is a great option for patients with lighter skin and is frequently used for faded tattoos and those that resist treatment with other devices.

The Fraxel Re:Store Dual laser can be used during tattoo removal to help rejuvenate the treatment area, allowing our doctors to use more aggressive laser settings for a faster result. It has also been thought that the Fraxel laser energy helps to breakdown the ink pigment under the skin, regardless of the color of that ink, aiding in the removal process.

Some of our patients choose our RapidTat protocol, which lets you condense four laser tattoo removal sessions into one office visit.

Avoid tanning the skin before laser tattoo removal. Also, avoid applying makeup or cover up to the area before treatment. We recommend avoiding the use of aspirin before laser tattoo removal, instead choosing non-aspirin products, like Tylenol or ibuprofen for minor aches and pains prior to the procedure. Notify your physician if you are prone to keloid scarring to determine if youre still a candidate for laser tattoo removal.

Advanced tattoo removal lasers are much faster and less traumatic to the skin than previous technologies, making the treatment much more comfortable3. The impact of the energy from the lasers powerful pulse of light has been described as similar to getting snapped by a thin hot, rubber band. With each subsequent treatment, the discomfort fades.

Methods for anesthesia vary from a Zimmer air chiller, topical, or injectable anesthesia.

The treatment will leave the skin mildly red and may result in pinpoint bleeding or blistering. One may notice a temporary whitening of the tattoo and swelling of the skin in the region. Over the next few weeks, the bodys scavenger cells remove pigment residues. One begins to notice lightening of the tattoo approximately two weeks post treatment and this will continue for two to three months.Following treatment, the doctor will apply an antibacterial ointment and dressing to the area. The skin should be kept clean with continued application of ointment as directed. A shower or bath the day after treatment is okay, but the treatment area should not be scrubbed. Your skin might feel slightly sunburned for a couple of days and the treated area may remain red for a few weeks. If the skin forms a blister or scab, this should be handled gently. After healing, the tattoo color will gradually and continually fade1.

Several laser tattoo removal treatments are normally needed to reach an endpoint the number of sessions depends on the amount and type of ink used and how deeply it was injected, but can vary anywhere from four to ten, or even more. Six to eight week intervals between sessions are required to allow pigment residue to be absorbed by the body.

We dont generally know which of the over 500 tattoo inks available today were used to create the tattoo and sometimes the pigments undergo chemical changes after the tattoo is placed. Even two identically colored tattoos may be derived from very different colors and types of inks.

The easiest tattoos to remove are ones with containing black ink. In contrast, the hardest are the multi-colored tattoos, especially containing floral and pastel colors5.

No, the extent of the ink that can be removed depends on many factors, including the physical nature of ink used, its color, how much was injected into your skin, and how deeply it was placed.

Yes, we its the most efficient way to clear a tattoo, but a multiple-wavelength session is best left to experienced physicians2,4.

Yes some of the most flattering referrals we get are from tattoo artists who send their clients to Reflections when they wish to revise their artwork. They choose us because we send their clients back with their skin in great condition.

Side effects of laser procedures are generally few but may include hyperpigmentation, or the darkening of the skin at the treatment site, and hypopigmentation, where the treated area lacks normal skin color. Other possible side effects include infection of the site, textural changes in the skin and permanent scarring. Treatment of tanned skin increases the complication rate and should be avoided. The use of advanced lasers designed specifically for your skin type and the color of your tattoo and the experience of your physician factor into the risk of complications5.

Go to a reputable practitioner who is using advanced and sterile instruments and choose a facility that is clean and up to date. Try to choose as few colors as possible and gravitate towards dark green, black and blue. Avoid pastel colors, yellow, orange, and white, as they are harder to remove5. Consider having the tattoo placed in an area that is easily coverable with clothing in case you regret the decision later.

There are several factors that will help ensure that you choose the right physician and facility for laser tattoo removal. First, make sure that the practitioner is indeed a physician. Next, ask the practitioner if he owns or rents the technology he will be utilizing. A physician who rents or uses a hospital-based system normally doesnt perform enough treatments to warrant purchasing the lasers, leaving the possibility that they are inexperienced. Rental lasers may also be improperly calibrated and result in bad outcomes. Make sure the technologies are indeed lasers (sometimes the term is used loosely) and are new.

Choose a physician who owns several tattoo lasers and has the full complement of wavelengths to treat all tattoo colors. If this is not the case, it may compromise care and result in inadequate removal of the tattoo pigment or even scarring5.Lastly, choose a physician who focuses their entire practice on laser and aesthetic medicine, and not one who has a different area of interest and uses lasers part time. Look around the office carefully. Make sure it is clean and up to date. Look for other lasers used for hair removal, skin rejuvenation, acne, rosacea, skin resurfacing and acne scars, etc. This demonstrates experience and dedication to the field, which can make a big difference in the quality of care you receive.

Dr. Chavez has providedthe most advanced and effective options for tattoo removal since 2004. During that time, weve likely done tens of thousands of tattoo treatments. Several places that offer tattoo removal have popped up over the past few years but none of them have the experience and expertise at removing your tattoos as Dr. Chavez and the Clearwaves Medical Laser Group staff!*

NOT created equal (and, sadly, all people dont tell the truth!) When we first started, we bought an excellent laser that promised to remove all the colors of the rainbow. It was GREAT at blacks and reds, but, to try to remove blues and greens, it was simply inadequate. Other offices in Albuquerque still use this system, and SAY they canremove all colors with it, but, it simply isnt true. We realized early in the game that if we were going to be greatat removing as many colors as possible, we would need additional lasers. So, we bought another incredibly high quality laser, specifically for blues and greens (it also treats black ink very well, so, we have an alternative forpeople who have tattoos withstubborn black ink!) We have now upgraded, again, to the most powerful systems available to get you the fastest results possible!*

Using an FDA-approved laser, light energy is directed at the tattooed area for only seconds. The laser light breaks up the ink into countless tiny pieces. Over the next several weeks, your body eliminates the fragmented particles of ink, safely and effectively.*

You have to be careful!

As mentioned earlier, some offices will use lasers that use dye packs to try to remove blues and greens. When we first started over 10 years ago, we tried that, too. But, they were largely ineffective and virtually never gave clients adequate results (if they did, we wouldnt have bought other lasers!) And just because an office says they use a q-switched laser, doesnt mean the laser can remove your tattoo completely or effectively. Thats because*

All Q-Switched tattoo removal lasers are not the same!

There are many technical distinctions between q-switched lasers that most clients dont know to look for. For example, if an office doesnt use a 10ns (or less) true flat beam q-switched laser, they may not be able to remove your tattoo completely. This may leave you with a ghost image (some ink remaining so you can still see the tattoo), or, you may need so many treatments that it can scar you. Also, many companies are now promoting lasers with more energy. That sounds good however, there are other variables besides power to consider. For example, one of the biggest mistakes offices make in trying to remove a tattoo is to increase the power, at the expense of spot size (I dont want to get too technical, but) When they lower the spot size, the energy isnt delivered as deep, and may not even reach the ink that youre trying to get rid of!*

After about a decade of using the previous Gold Standards in tattoo removal, theMedlite C6 Q-Switched Yag (1064nm/532nm) Laser and theCandela AlexLazr Q-Switched Alexandrite Laser (755nm), we upgraded to a new system! The Astanza Trinity uses advancedtechnology, with morepower available compared to its competitors such as the Revlite laser, Picosure laser, Picoway laser, or the Enlighten laser. *

Speaking of Pico lasers, Dr. Chavezhas extensively researched the new Picosecond lasers for laser tattoo removal: Picosure, Picoway, and Enlighten. Theysound impressive (we almost bought one), but many of the before and after photos dont seem to show any better results than we can already achieve, and the side-effects (especially the changes in skin color even on light skinned individuals) made us to reconsider. And, these picosecond treatments are, generally, TWICE the cost. Our focus is speeding up your tattoo removal, without increasing the risks or the costs!*

Numerous clients come to our office after trying a place they thought would be cheaper. But, less effective lasers and less effective techniques means more treatments, more money, and more risks.*

You may email Dr. Chavez a photo ( or you can schedule a free consultation. Generally, even with large tattoos, its generally $690/treatment or less.

Package Pricing:

The average number of treatments is 6-9. After 9 treatments (same area/price), all treatments are 50% off!

Tattoo Removal Laser Skin Clinic03.19.18

Option 1 Ultra pulse CO2 laser (Exclusive to Laser Clinic)- the latest in effective tattoo removal. The Ultra Pulse CO2 laser is a micro surgical laser beam. This laser has a very definite and precise beam which vapourises the tissues of the skin. In treating the tattoo both the skin and ink is removed layer by layer. Due to the vapourising effect of the laser the skin beneath is left in tact (no stitches required)where no excessive bleeding occurs resulting in a quick healing and recovery time.

After the 1st session up to 30%+/- of the tattoo is removed, there will be a clear yellowish fluid( plasma) that will be evident over the scabbing the treated area should be covered with paraffin gauze when at work etc, but left open to dry out when at home. The area can be cleaned daily with a salt water solution.

Scabbing forms over the area after 2 -4 days(how quickly it forms depends on location and depth of the treatment) this scabbing then flakes off a few weeks later revealing the residual ink beneath, this process needs to be repeated 2 3 more times every 8 weeks+.

Up to 80% of a tattoo can be removed in 1 session on special request, a signed consent form will be required from the patient as the degree of scarring cannot be preempted . The residual ink can be removed a minimum of 10+ weeks later

Due to the powerful nature of the laser an anesthetic injection must be administered before the commencement of the procedure.

The Ultra Pulse CO2 laser at the Laser Clinic Canal Walk is one of a kind in South Africa and has proven to be the most effective laser in complete tattoo removal.

Please call us to book a consultation with the doctor

Exclusively available at LASER CLINIC Canal Walk : Ultra Pulse CO2 laser Tattooremoval

Option 2:Q switchedNd: Yag ACTIVE laser:8 10 sessions are required; 6 8 week intervals between each session; BLACK INK ONLY; minimal to no scarring visible: non invasive procedure; very quick and effective. This specific ACTIVE Yag head has proven to be more intensive than the standard yag head in certain cases( age and location of tattoo) up to +/-45% of the ink is removed in 1 session with no scarring evident as it breaks up the ink without severely opening the skin.

Q switchedNd: Yag ACTIVE laser : tattoo removal 1st session

PLEASE NOTE: A tattoo is ink permanently embedded in the dermis of the skin, to remove it will mean that some form of trauma( like a laser procedure) will have to be administered to the skin in order to remove/ break up the ink. This will change the appearance of the skin cells meaning there will be some form of scar tissue and/or texture difference etc. the degree of scarring depends on the patients natural ability to heal and if the area was treated properly during the healing stage.

Barkley has been itching to leave Goodison Park this summer for a new challenge after handing in a transfer request.

But a hamstring injury that has ruled him out until November scuppered a deadline day move to Chelsea.

With Barkley unable to join his team-mates in training, the 23-year-old has plenty of free time on his hands.

And he spent his Thursday at the tattoo removers after being snapped hobbling around on crutches.

But Everton fans quickly took to Twitter to suggest that he was having the club crest removed now he wants to leave the club.

One fan wrote: Ross Barkley removing his Everton tattoo hahaha the geez actually hates us.

Another wants Barkley out of the club when they wrote: “Barkley getting his tattoo removed or?? I actually cannot wait till he leaves.”

Barkley also had tattoo ‘XX.VIII.MMXI’ removed from his arm which is the date on his debut against Queens Park Rangers on August 20, 2011.

He is almost certain to leave the Blues in January with both Chelsea and Tottenham still interested in landing his signature.
