Tykei Hallman of Boston faces an armed robbery charge after authorities say he stole more than $17,000 from at least 10 convenience stores, according to a federal affidavit unsealed Friday.

Hallman, 25, was charged with one count of robbery using a firearm in connection with the Nov. 5 robbery of the Five Corners Market in Quincy. It was the stores second robbery in three months, and authorities suspected the same man was behind the second.

Hallman, who was nicknamed the inconvenient crook," is tied to at least 15 robberies at 10 stores across the South Shore, said Special Agent Thomas J. Zukauskas, a member of FBI Bostons Violent Crimes Task Force. He requested authorization to execute a search warrant at Hallmans home in Hyde Park to continue the investigation.

In the Nov. 5 robbery, a masked man dressed in black entered the Five Corners Market at 161 Newbury Ave. brandishing a handgun. He demanded money from the cashier.

The cashier handed over $2,500 from the cash register, attached with a GPS cash-tracker.

The cashier who was working during an Aug. 17 armed robbery at the store and was present on Nov. 5 told authorities that the robberies were conducted by the same person, according to the affidavit. It is unclear whether the cashier from the Aug. 17 armed robbery was also working behind the counter on Nov. 5.

Altogether, authorities tied Hallman to 15 armed robbery, starting with a May incident at a Hyde Park convenience store:

Zukauskas, the federal agent, said video footage at the store, GPS trackers and additional surveillance footage near Hallmans home implicates him in the series of armed robberies. Zukauskas, citing phone records and surveillance footage, said he believes there is evidence of Hallmans role in other robberies at his home in Hyde Park.

Hallman is expected to make an initial appearance at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday in Boston federal court, according to the U.S. Attorneys Office.
