As part of a three generational bucket list experience on Red Table Talk, Jada Pinkett Smith, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, and Willow Smith completed a life goal by getting matching tattoos. And of course, the whole experience was documented on their talk show.

The grandmother, mother, and daughter were elated to be inked by the one and only Dr. Woo, an iconic and high-profile tattoo artist in Los Angeles whos worked on celebrities like Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Brad Pitt, and more.

Dr. Woo is making time for us, Jada said on the May 26th show, adding that he has a miles-long waitlist.

The trio went in with the idea of getting a lotus, suggested by Willow, which is a flower that represents purity, enlightenment, and rebirth. Dr. Woo took their plan a step further by mapping out three stages of a blooming lotusa bud, a small blossom, and a fully bloomed flower in a vertical line.

The lotus represents spiritual enlightenment, and we hear this saying, Through the mud grows the lotus, Willow explained. Thats definitely my story, Adrienne added.

Willow continued, explaining the layers of what the tattoo means to her: I think all of us from different perspectives in life have had that journeythe bud to the little blossom to the bloom. Also, I feel like it expresses the spiritual journey, but also the three of us, like Im the youngest, my mom is the middle, and Gam is the fully bloomed lotus.

Adrienne agreed with Willow, adding her own interpretation. And it means something different for each of us. Our stories, our journeys are different. But it still represents us so well, she said. You have to go through the mud, the dirt, and still something beautiful was created. And that kind of describes my journey. Ive been through some really tough times. But Im still worthy, and theres still room for me to grow and change. Even now at 67, Im still growing and changing and trying to be better. So getting the lotus was just like, everything.

They were so happy to finally fulfill something theyve wanted to do for years. Jada got hers on the top of her arm, Willow on the side of her arm, and Adrienne, above her wrist. Jada shared pictures of the completed work on Instagram.

Look what we did!!!! Thank you @_dr_woo_ for your patience and generosity of your craft and spirit, she wrote. Now I want a sleeve!!!!
